We finally had one of those, "you should have been here yesterday" days. Ended up going 24 for 28
plus 11 eyes in the mix. Fished from 8:00 till 12:00 or so. It was an awesome day. Purples on the
morning and oranges after 9:00. Dipsys 115, 75, 50, and then we moved them down from their. Didnt
seem to matter to much. Riggers at 44 and 37 with sliders also pulling some fish. 5 and 6 colors of
lead also worked. Overall an awesome day. Big fish were two 11.5lbers.
Total Count for the Weekend: 11 Walleyes and 24 Bullets

6.24 & 6.25.06
On Saturday we fished the Detroit bell. Started in 19FOW and then ran with the waves south. Pulled
our 4 man limit in about an hour. Spoons off of 40's 30 - 50 back. By the end of our drift we were in 26
FOW, but the good fishing stopped around 24 FOW.
One very interesting note - Water temp by the bell, 70.1 degrees. Water temp at 26 FOW, 71.8 Deg.
The baitfish must be loving the Lake Huron water!!
On Sunday I fished with Rebel again and pulled out two man limit at the CDN line south of MS.
Switched things up and ran bottom bouncers and bead sinkers with meat. Our first spot was abit to
far south, but when we made the move north we pulled our fish in about an hour and a half. Speed
was around 1.3 - 1.5. Great day to be on the water.

Well, it took us a while today, 4 hours, but we pulled our 4 man limit off of the point, sorda. It is more
like go the point and then drive for until you hit the Ohio line. Bite was slow for us. Had 11 in about 1.5
hours and thought it was going to be an awesome day then we trolled to far north and picked up and
ran back south to finish out our day. Same program as days gone by, spoons off of Jet 40's 4- 50
back.

The bay was hot this weekend! Started off Sat morning with a 5 person limit just south of the point.
21 FOW using Jet 40's 30 back, Mini Discs 50 - 70 back, and Dipsys on a setting 1, 16 back. No real
big fish, but the action was great.
On Sat night I took out the wife, her sister, and her boyfriend. Started off near the Ohio line, pulled
bigger fish but the action was slower so we just continued the troll into the bay. Same program as
above, pulled a 4 person limit in about 2 hours, only kept enough fish for a meal. It was good to put
two newbies on some fish in their first trip out.
Sunday morning I got the chance to hook up with Erie Rebel. We fished the same basic are but the
waves we a bit larger and I trolled further south then I would have like to and that cost some time.
Still managed our 3 man limit in a little over 2 hours on the same program as above. We then
stopped and did some casting for entertainments sake and pulled 4 more.
Sunday night Todd and I headed out for a few hours. Pulled a two man limit in the same general
area running the same program. Threw back all but 5.
Water temp on both days was around 69.1 - 69.6.

Friday we started off at the sugar island cut, pulled a ton of WB's. We then fished the south side of the
dike wall, pulled approx 10 largemouth and a ton of Rock Bass and only 1 smallmouth. Then went up
to the hole in the wall and proceeded to tear up the rock bass again. We then went up and fished the
US waters of Hidden Lake and absolutly smoke the largemouth. Between the 3 of us we pulled over
25 fish (that is smoking for me since I fish for bass about once every 4 yrs!) in about 3 hours of work.
We also caught alot of rockies to keep us busy. Pulled all of the fish on a 4 inch grub with a nail
weight and weedless hook. Overall the guys had a great time, one was from Denver and he said it
was a day he wont ever forget. Thanks for all of the help and tips before hand. I actually had a decent
time fishing for the toothless critters. I used to fish for them alot when I was younger, but this was the
first time in years that I have actually targeted them.
Sat was Corey's wedding.
Sunday I fish from about 1/2 down the south side of the dike to the outer limits of Fermi today from 1:
00 to 4:00 with Frank T. We pulled 18 fish, all on Big Jon's 25 - 30 back. Fished 16FOW for the most
part. We found a really active pod in 15FOW directly out of Swan Creek (I think??). Pulled 9 quick fish
and then the wind drove us into the bay where we pulled one more in 17FOW and then called it a day.
No real size, but all fish were over 15"s. I still dont know about running inline boards, I would much
rather run big ones myself, but since we only ran 4 rods it didnt make much sense.

On Sat we started of N of WS in 28FOW. We had 5 fish quickly and then it slowed down abit. We
talked to "Got One" on the radio and Steve said to head a little further south, so we moved about 2
miles south to finish out our 3 man limit. All fish came on Jet 40's 50- 70FB and Mini-Discs 50 -
70FB. All spoons.
Sunday was the first leg of the 2006 FWT. This year we have 4 boat competing amongst friends for
this years bragging rights and the FWT flag. Team Lady Bridge fished east of WS and pulled 53lbs of
fished between 5 guys for an average of 10.6lbs/man. Downtown Andy Brown also fished east of WS
for 40lbs of fish between 5 guys for an average of 8lbs/man. Skunk Ape took a chance on Kelley's
and pulled 18lbs for 3 people, or 6lbs/man. We fished even further south of where we fished on Sat
after comparing notes with Steve. Lines in at 6:00 and we had our limit by 8:30, we then upgraded
until 12:30. All fish came on spoons off of Mini-Discs and Jet 40's with the same outs as on Sat. We
pulled 74.2lbs of fish for 4 guys, or 18.55lbs/man. We had one 29.25 kicked fish in the mix, with a lot
of 4 and 5lbers. It is a two-day event so anything can happen come July when the second leg will be
fished.

The day started really slow for us, only 1 eye by 8:30, and then we went into shallower water. We did
the best in 18 - 19FOW in the muddy water. Jet 40's 25 back with spoons took most of the fish. We
also pulled a few on dipsys. Had our 15 by 1:00 and went back in.

On Sat we braved the weather and fished between A-Can and B-Can. Ended up pulling 10 eyes in
about 3.5 hours of fishing. Spoons and meat, both worked. Working 15 - 20 FOW with jets, dipsy's
and inline weights. Jet 40's 35 - 45 back, dipsys setting 1 22FB, setting 3 30FB, and 1oz inlines 50 -
60FB. Speed was 1.8-2.1. On our last pass we went to within 2 miles of West Sister, excellent marks,
but no takers. Fish ranged from 15.5" to 27.5" with the average being around 23"s

With a stiff NE wind this weekend, I was only able to get out on Sat. The crew consisted of Rick, Flip
and myself. We went out of Catawba State Park and headed towards the bass Islands. We set of on
the 24ft shelf that extends east of Rattlesnake, around 7:30, and marked a ton of fish, but no takers.
We then headed north to West Reef and only managed one Steelie. We then headed back down
south and set up in the narrow between S and M Bass and trolled east. Made two passes and
picked up four fish. All on cranks. Speed was 1.4 - 1.6 and the water temp was 52.6.

I was able to fish Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this week! On Saturday Ahmed and I fished one
mile north of B-Can. We caught six fish between 7:30 and 9:30 with three of them being FO's! Fish
came on spinners 20 - 1oz - 30, and RR's 45 - 55fb. The bite shutdown around 9:30 for us.
On Sat we fished a tourny out of Anchor point. We went straight to the same location we fished on
Sat and had few marks and no fish. From their we continued to push eastward, stopping two miles
east of Niagara, no fish, and then finally picked up two in between N and MI Bass. Fish came on a
orange spinner and a Pink Lemonade RR. Water temp was around 53 degs.
On Sat evening we fished between Turtle and the Lighthouse. We started of in 11FOW and it was
slow, we then headed to 9FOW and it was on! We caught 28 fish in about an hour and a half. 4 man
limit was selected from the bigger fish. Water temp was 59 degs.
On Sunday we headed out early to the same area we ended at last night. Dropped lines at 6:30 and
had our three man limit by 7:15. Played C & R for about another 25mins. 20 eyes total and I was
back in bed by 9:00!

We were able to fish on both Friday and Sat. Fridays crew consisted of Todd and myself. We started
out with seas of glass, out of Bolles and went to the dumping grounds. By the time we arrived it was
blowing 1-3's and it only got worse. We picked up 4 fish, all of a gold/chartreuse 3/8oz Vib-E. The
waves kicked up even more, 2-4's and the fishing didn’t get any better. We then got a tip from Skunk
that he was picking fish between Lil' Cedar point and the lighthouse, so we made the 6 mile trek. Got
4 more fish, three on purple hair jigs, and 1 on the Vib-E. We then made one more move, between
turtle and the lighthouse, had 4 solid hook-up's on a 3/8z silver Cicada, but couldn’t bring the fish
home. Water temp was 53.4
On Sat we headed to the reefs, (Corey, Todd, and Frank T). The day started off great, 4 fish on about
45mins in 10FOW directly outside of Turtle Creek. However, they were smaller so we made the
move out the reefs and only caught one more the rest of day. We set up off of cone, one report said
that they did good on cone, probably should have tried that! We also trolled from 1 mile east of C-
Can to about 1/2 mile past it and didn’t get anything. Had two good trolling reports, one from 1.7M
west of C-Can, RR 30-35 back @ 1.5MPH, and one from E of Niagara with the same program.
Extremely frustrating when you here good reports but you cant get the fish to go! Water temp was 50.3

It was great to finally be back on the water in 2006! The crew consisted of Corey, Rich and Rick
(since LBII wasn’t in the water yet). We launched out of Fenwick Marina around 6:45 and headed
towards the reefs. We ran all the way to Cone and then set down. Within 5 minutes we had the first
fish on, it came on a purple hair jig. It then became the Corey Miller, show, he ended up catching 13
of the 16 total fish! He was throwing a gold/chartreuse Cicada. Rick ended up with two, and Rich
with one. I ended up with zero, but I was busy keeping us on the fish! We had out limit of 16 by 10:45
and then ran 6 miles due east, 2 miles past Niagara reef, and trolled cranks for 45 minutes without a
hit. The wind had picked up out of the east and 2’4s were starting to roll so we headed in. Water
temp on the reefs was 43.8 and 40.5 out past the reef complex. Overall it was a great first trip!
